O Connor Brothers

Your father Jack managed the Kerry Senior team to All Ireland titles in 2004, 2006 and 2009 and the Kerry minor team this year. Which victory stands out the most to you?

Cian: 2004 for me, Kerry came into the championship after a heavy defeat from Tyrone the previous year. Kerry’s first game in the league in 2004 was against Longford. They lost…… but as the year went on they gained momentum and won the All Ireland that year.

Éanna: Definitely 2009, having come so close to getting knocked out on several occasions and to eventually triumph, proving so many people wrong including our own, will live long in the memory.

Who is Kerry’s greatest ever sportsman in your opinion?

Cian: The Casey brothers from Sneem, especially Steve Casey. Steve Casey was a world wrestling champion in the 1930s, he defeated world boxing champions and he also won All England rowing championships.
