The club would like to send their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Daniel Foran who sadly passed away on Thursday.

Dan was an adored son, brother, father, husband, and a respected player and team mate. He touched the lives of so many people across the world on and off the pitch.

Those that were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Dan will undoubtedly have countless memories for a lifetime as he fitted a lot into his 25 years on this Earth.

Dan played football and hurling for Moorefield and Kildare. He captained Moorefield to win a League Title in 2007 and played at centre back when he captained the under 16 team that were narrowly beaten by Naas in the Championship Final, when Naas tagged on a late few scores to deny Moorefield a win. That Moorefield team was managed by his Father Bobby who was also a great Moores Player.

Dan also played underage hurling for Kildare and one game that stands out in my mind was when he was selected to play against Kilkenny in which Kildare beat a strong side.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered in Moorefield GAA.
